What MCP assistant will never do

Workflows go live only when you mean it

One activation tool, called on purpose, running the same pre-flight checklist as the dashboard before anything switches on.

Active workflows cannot be edited here

Deactivate, change what you need, switch it back on. Sender keeps every subscriber's position, so no one restarts the workflow.

Destructive actions need an explicit flag

Dropping subscribers waiting on a step or discarding a drag-and-drop design needs an explicit acknowledgment flag in the tool call. If it's destructive, you say so.

Workflow creation is capped at 50 per account per day

You won't notice it in normal use. A misfiring AI agent stuck in a loop will, which is the point.

Drag-and-drop designs are protected

Your assistant reads drag-and-drop emails but can't overwrite them unless you explicitly allow it, since overwriting discards the design for good. Template management stays in the editor.

It can only do what your role allows

Every tool checks your Sender user role before it runs. If you can't edit campaigns in the dashboard, neither can your assistant. It gets a permission error, and your account stays exactly as you left it.

Frequently asked questions

Can an AI assistant send emails to my subscribers?

Not on its own. There's no email sending tool: campaigns arrive as drafts, workflows are inactive, and you activate a workflow explicitly or send a campaign from Sender.

Do I need a paid Sender plan to use this?

No. Sender's email marketing MCP server works on every plan, including Free; see the pricing page for what each tier includes. New to Sender, or moving from a MailerLite account or another email platform? Create a free account, import your list, then connect.

Does my assistant see my whole account?

Assistant access follows your Sender user role: limited role – limited view. It reads your Sender account only, never a Gmail or Microsoft Outlook inbox; a Gmail MCP server is a separate tool for that. Sender is an email Model Context Protocol server for a full marketing platform.

Who controls my subscriber data?

It reads the data your Sender user role gives you access to. Tools check permissions individually, so a limited role produces a limited view.

Can I disconnect it?

Yes. Remove the connector in your assistant, and MCP access stops immediately. Nothing you already created changes.

Will it change things without asking?

It proposes; you approve. Claude, ChatGPT, and Cursor each ask before running a tool that writes or deletes data, unless you've turned on auto-approval in that client. Keep it off for Sender and check what a write or delete step touches before you say yes.

Can I use more than one Sender account?

Yes. Each connection covers one account, so add one connector per account and name them clearly (sender-brand-a, sender-brand-b). Enable only the one you're working in per chat, so your assistant can't read one account and write to another by mistake. Most teams share one account, with each person on the marketing team connecting from their own assistant.

Can I use it with an assistant other than Claude, ChatGPT, or Cursor?

Probably. Any MCP client that supports remote servers with OAuth should work; we've documented and tested those three.
